Architect

Irving Tobocman

“Throughout my 40 plus year career in the industry, I am so grateful to have worked and collaborated with some of the Detroit area's legendary architects. Their influence and direction has played a very important role in my design development over the years. The videos and photos below are a representation of the late Irving Tobocman’s classic modern design aesthetic. If you have had the opportunity to tour a Tobocman home, regardless of the year it was built, you’ll observe Irv’s deliberate and steadfast commitment to adhering to his signature design language. Whether working from Irv’s hand drawn blueprints, or often, a spontaneous perspective sketch drawn on the drywall, we knew the outcome would result in timeless perfection. The recipe below consists of Macassar Ebony, Sapele, Zebrawood, Rosewood, figured Makore, bronze, plus Irv.”
